The Old Cape Henry (225th Birthday) print was made to commemorate the fact that Preservation Virginia’s Old Cape Henry Lighthouse in Virginia Beach, VA was first lit on November 17, 1792 and has been fixed at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay for 225 years. The design is simple and showcases the lighthouse’s major features: its red Rappahannock sandstone exterior, the 50-foot sand dune that it sits on top of, and its location at the entrance of the Chesapeake Bay. The black and white print is used as a limited edition coloring page and the colored print will be used for posters and postcards at the lighthouse’s museum shop.
