December 2012
12” H X 3 ” W X 15” L
Stoneware clay and black, white, silver, and yellow acrylic paint
This piece was created for a final assignment in a Ceramics 1 course. Any ceramic piece was allowed to be created and there were no specific guidelines to the assignment.
The ceramic teapot is composed of stoneware clay. Once the piece was constructed, the clay was fired in a kiln. After the firing process, a clock face indicating tea time was painted onto the teapot with white and black acrylic paint. The rest of the piece was painted with yellow and silver acrylic paint. Finally, the teapot was fired one last time in order for the glaze to dry.
