ViBe Creative District Rack Card

As an intern for Virginia Beach’s arts and cultural district, the ViBe Creative District, a new rack card for the district was developed on AutoCAD. The old rack card, initially created in 2015, was only 2-panels (9” H X 8” W) wide because it required less space due to the small number of businesses within the district. However, after reevaluating the initial rack card three years later, it is outdated, has an illegible map, and does not highlight the public art in the district.

The format of rack cards from other neighborhoods and districts in Hampton Roads were examined and used for inspiration and as references. The new rack card has a map that shows the locations of the businesses and public art in the district. Since it expands to 6-panels wide, advertisement spaces were sold to businesses in the ViBe in order to alleviate the cost of printing. 150,000 copies of the new rack card were printed and distributed across Hampton Roads.
